Ocean Club at Asbury Park

Standing 17 stories above the Atlantic Ocean across the street, is the Ocean Club at Asbury Park, N.J.  The Ocean Club offers 180-270-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean with floor to ceiling windows. It is filled with chic, yet urban residential housing and a boutique hotel.

Asbury Park is a very historic “beach” town in N. J., and is home to the world-famous historical music venue, The Stone Pony, which is just down the street from this new high rise.

The structure is a unique “hybrid” which incorporates regular weight stone concrete columns and high strength lightweight cast -in -place floors for fire ratings and dead load reduction.

The close proximity of the building to the ocean made a solid concrete frame the structure of choice.

The use of Solite^® lightweight concrete floors allowed for significant dead load reduction required for the location and allowed the designer to increase the number of floors in the building.
