A $2 billion renovation at this busy airport in the heart of NYC is a unique public-private partnership replacing the terminals and parking garages. Solite® structural concrete was chosen for the floors of the terminal to provide weight savings and to enhance fire resistance. In order to correct poor marshland soil, Solite® Geofill will provide foundation load stability at several locations throughout the project.
U.S. Tennis Center
Flushing Meadow, NY
This center was built adjacent to the site of the 1964 New York World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, NY. The soil is extremely poor marshland, and Solite® was used as Load Compensation throughout the complex. Recently, Solite® was used as the base material for the parking lot expansion.
